Health Coverage Review: 12 Key Questions
Start here with every client. These questions help identify changes that could affect eligibility, coverage needs, costs, and plan options for 2027.
1. Has anything changed in your household?
Marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, or someone moving in or out.
2. What do you expect your household income to be this year?
3. Has your employment or self-employment situation changed?
4. Does anyone in your household now have access to employer-sponsored health coverage?
5. Are your current premium and potential out-of-pocket costs still comfortable for you?
6. Are you taking any prescription medications we need to check against the formulary?
7. Are you happy with your current doctors, specialists, and hospitals?
8. Do you expect any major medical care, procedures, treatments, or changes in healthcare needs?
9. Are you or anyone in your household currently enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP, or have you received a notice about your eligibility?
10. Have you had any problems with your current plan this year, such as network access, prescriptions, claims, or getting care?
11. What matters most to you: premium, out-of-pocket costs, doctors, prescriptions, network, or something else?
12. Would you like to compare your current coverage with the available options before deciding whether to renew?
